Vivo V23 5G review – Attractive Design, Camera with aesthetic images –

vivo V23 5G is one of the V series smartphones that has 5G connectivity support in Indonesia. This feature also has advantages in the rear body which has a unique color.

Priced at IDR 5,999,000, the Vivo V23 5G has been provided with 5 cameras consisting of 2 front cameras and three rear cameras to make it easier for users to work in producing interesting photos.

Meanwhile, the RAM and internal storage carried by this smartphone has great capabilities. Not lagging behind, the Flash Charge spec support that comes with the Vivo V23 5G can charge the battery quickly.

Conclusion

vivo V23 5G is comfortable to use for everyday use because of its long battery life, smooth performance, and multi-camera support. Regarding the shape it looks beautiful.

Pros

  • Long battery life
  • 44W Flash Charge
  • Good photo results
  • Smooth performance
  • AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate
  • Multifunction NFC sensor

Cons

  • No 3.5mm audio jack
  • No microSD slot
  • Slick back body

Even though there are many smartphones that use punch holes, Vivo actually continues to trust the bangs on the top side of the Vivo V23 5G monitor to load the two front cameras.

Roughly speaking, this Vivo V23 5G comes with a 6.44-inch monitor that has AMOLED technology and Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) which can show content clearly and sharply.

Moreover, the monitor is able to show content clearly even though it is still in the sun once again. With a refresh rate of 90Hz, it makes the movement of switching between menus or animations in games look smooth. But to save battery, I also sometimes change it to a 60Hz refresh rate.

The fingerprint sensor that comes in the monitor can detect fingerprints critically, so unlocking the monitor is fast. Face Unlock specs have also been introduced in this product.

This device itself comes with 2 kinds of colors which are divided into Stardust Black and Sunshine Gold. Fortunately, I found a vivo V23 5G with Sunshine Gold color whose back body is coated with Changing Fluorite AG Glass which can show different color gradations when under light and related to the viewing angle.

Basically this Sunshine Gold has a brilliant gold base color, but if I look at it from a different angle, the rear body will show a blue-green gradation.

Not only that, I can add a schematic on the back of the body regarding the things I placed on the Vivo V23 5G. For example, if I paste a leaf on the back of this smartphone for a while under the sun or UV (Ultra Violet), then the leaf pattern will automatically be made on the back body.

Meanwhile, to get rid of that scheme, because of that, I simply re-dried the vivo V23 5G in the sun until the grooves seriously disappeared. In my opinion, shape and color are one of the magnets of this smartphone.

For the edge frame of the vivo V23 5G also uses metal with a gold color so that it looks attractive. But fingerprints and dust nodes easily adhere to this frame.

Moreover, the arrangement of the glass on the back of this smartphone makes it feel slippery when held in one hand. For that, I continue to use the Vivo V23 5G default softcase so that the edge frame and back side are guaranteed.

On the right side there are volume and power buttons that are arranged vertically. While on the bottom side there is a USB Type-C port, speaker hole, and SIM card slot without the appearance of a microSD.

Regarding photography, the Vivo V23 5G comes with support for three rear cameras which are divided into a 64 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro. With the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology, the camera in particular produces 16 MP photos with active colors and absorbs a lot of light by default.

But the camera in particular can produce photos with a larger resolution reaching 64 MP when I turn on the High Resolution spec. It can be said that a photo with a resolution of 64 MP has higher detail than a photo with a 16 MP resolution.

In small containers such as smartphone monitors, the difference between the two photos is not visible, but when made in larger containers such as banners, billboards, billboards, and others, it appears that 64 MP photos are brighter than 16 MP.

On paper, this Vivo V23 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 920 (6nm) Octa-Core 2.5 GHz chipset and 8 GB of RAM that has powerful performance. In addition, there is an Extended RAM specification that allows the method of borrowing free capacity from internal storage to Virtual RAM up to 4 GB.

In other words, this Vivo V23 5G has RAM with an overall capacity of up to 12 GB. Apart from that, the internal storage of this smartphone reaches 128 GB, so the free power supply for Virtual RAM is not a problem.

Actually, this Virtual RAM will be used by the Vivo V23 5G method when the capabilities of the physical RAM are almost used up by the program so that the smartphone can run smoothly without any obstacles.

To try the capabilities of this combined hardware feature, I also immediately run various programs for daily work starting with social media, chat, telephone, SMS, streaming music, video streaming, e-mail editor, and scripts.

As a result, the program can be driven multitasking with no lag and smoothly. It can be said that the chipset factor that has fast capabilities and large RAM capabilities makes the Vivo V23 5G run smoothly.

For a more serious check, I also tried some well-known games such as Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Pokemon Unite, Mobile Legends, Arena of Valor, and Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition.

All games can be driven smoothly even if you use high graphics and frame rate settings. But for the record, I feel that Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition should be played with medium graphics and frame rates or below so that the Vivo V23 5G doesn’t get hot quickly.

Not only that, I also took part in the vivo V23 5G performance test with the AnTuTu Benchmark v9.2.9 program which showed a high score reaching 484,434 points. And by checking using Geekbench 5.4.4, this feature managed to get a score of 706 for Single-Core and 2,000 points for Multi-Core.

Based on checking with the use of daily programs, popular games, and benchmark programs, it appears that the Vivo V23 5G has capabilities that can compete with other 5G smartphones in the same price range.

As a source of life energy, Vivo believes that the 4,200mAh battery in the Vivo V23 5G is claimed to be durable in use for daily work.

To get to know the battery endurance capability, I also immediately did a benchmark using the PCMark for Android program with a Work 3.0 battery life style benchmark, the brightness level of the monitor is 50%, and the battery is 100%.

As a result, the vivo V23 5G successfully found PCMark for Android worth 11 hours 5 minutes for the use of a monitor with a 90Hz refresh rate. And if you use a 60Hz refresh rate, then the score it receives reaches 15 hours 38 minutes.

While using programs for daily work, such as social media, chat, e-mail, script editors, streaming song players sometimes, and video streaming players sometimes, AkiBattery wrote that the Vivo V23 5G can last 19 hours 33 minutes with Screen on time 7 hours 23 minutes from 100% battery state to 15% for a monitor with a refresh rate of 60Hz.

While at 90Hz refresh rate, Vivo V23 5G can last for 14 hours 33 minutes with Screen on time 7 hours 33 minutes from 100% battery state to 15%. This shows that the smartphone has a long battery life considering the battery capacity is only 4,200mAh.

In addition, it appears that a monitor with a refresh rate of 90Hz consumes more energy than a monitor with a refresh rate of 60Hz. But with the 44W Flash Charge specification, the Vivo V23 5G battery can contain from 15% to 100% in just 1 hour.

This vivo V23 5G has been equipped with FunTouch OS 12 based on Android 12 which has a simple interface and less bloatware, making it easier for me to navigate between programs or menus.

In FunTouch OS 12, there are many interesting specs starting with Dark Style, App Clone, Split Screen, and Ultra Games Mode. Dark Style can make the appearance of methods and programs dark, so it makes the eyes comfortable when watching content on the Vivo V23 5G monitor in low light conditions.

The App Clone feature can duplicate several programs, especially social media, making it easier for me to enter more than one account. After that Split Screen, makes it easier for me to run two programs at once on a monitor. For example, doing chat on WhatsApp while watching news from the browser

For Ultra Games Style, it will improve the performance of games when they are in motion. Even when playing games, I can connect to Games Assistance, there are various game specs starting with Esport Style, 4D Games Vibration, Voice Changer, Background Calls, and many more.

After using it for a few weeks, I myself feel that the Vivo V23 5G is comfortable to use for everyday work. Plus, this smartphone sells smooth performance and long battery life.

The front and rear camera support that is sold by this feature can be said to give satisfaction in producing good photos. The fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock that come on the vivo V23 5G can also speed up the unlocking of the monitor quickly.

Although the back body has a unique color, it feels slippery when held with one hand. For that, I recommend that you immediately use the additional softcase in the sales package.

The NFC sensor that comes with this smartphone makes it easier for me to review or fill in my e-money balance quickly, especially when things are in a hurry. In addition, the NFC in vivo V23 5G can be used for substitution of apartment, boarding, or office access cards.

The absence of a 3.5mm Audio Jack port, made me have to use the 3.5mm Audio Jack to USB Type-C converter cable that was in the marketing box in order to connect a headset or earphone to the Vivo V23 5G.

As an option, I sometimes use a TWS (True Wireless Stereo) headset with a Bluetooth network so that it can be easily connected to a smartphone. Apart from that, you can also buy a headset or earphones with a USB Type-C port to connect directly to the Vivo V23 5G.

This device has been supported by 5G connectivity for SIM 1 and SIM 2 slots. But it should be noted that several operators and a few areas in Indonesia support 5G connectivity.

Overall, this Vivo V23 5G has more advantages than its drawbacks, so it can be one of the alternative 5G smartphones in the middle class.
